• Location: London (Hybrid - minimum 40% onsite)

• Duration: April 2026 - June 2026

• Rate: £550/day Inside IR35

• Clearance: SC Clearance required

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a high-profile public sector initiative focused on the future of retail payments infrastructure in the UK.

This is a strategic, insight-driven role where you will shape next-generation payment systems, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to nationally significant technology outcomes.

The Role

You will operate at a strategic level, producing high-level designs and recommendations that will help define the future of retail payments. This role combines architecture, service design, and policy-aligned technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-level enterprise architecture designs for modern payment systems

• Analyse complex challenges and produce clear, strategic recommendations

• Research best practices across payment ecosystems and comparable industries

• Design end-to-end user journeys and service experiences

• Engage with industry stakeholders to understand needs and processes

• Produce thought leadership papers to influence decision-making forums

• Collaborate with design authorities and delivery teams to ensure alignment

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Enterprise Architecture & high-level design

• Knowledge of retail payments systems/financial infrastructure

• Experience with service design and user journey mapping

• Ability to analyse complex problems and evaluate strategic options

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and gaining buy-in

Desirable

• Background in architecture or design disciplines

• Experience delivering large-scale or public sector programmes

• Direct experience with payments systems or financial regulation
