Location: Glasgow - 5 days per week onsite

Rate: £425 per day

We are looking for an experienced Kong API Engineer to join a major banking environment in Glasgow. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on API management, API security and cloud-native technologies.

Banking or financial services experience is essential.

Key Skills & Experience Required

• Strong programming experience in Golang and/or Lua

• Hands-on experience with API Management platforms, ideally Kong API Gateway

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and the OpenAPI Specification (OAS)

• Hands-on API security experience, including:

  • OAuth 2.0

  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)

  • JWT validation

  • Key Authentication

  • Mutual TLS (mTLS)

• Strong cloud-native engineering experience

• Experience across CI/CD, Kubernetes and Terraform

Desirable Skills

• AWS experience, including ECS, EKS and MSK

• Deep hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway

• Strong Golang and/or Lua development skills

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong API Engineer to work on a major banking programme in a highly technical, hands-on environment.

Please note: This role requires 5 days per week onsite in Glasgow and candidates must have banking/financial services experience.

Rate: £425/day Inside IR35 | 6-month contract
