SAFEHR Programme Delivery Manager

The University College London Hospital / University College London NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is seeking a Programme Delivery Manager for maternity cover, specialising in digital data and technology projects, with a focus on research. In this role, you will lead efficient project delivery and operational support, utilising your expertise in research and engineering management. Experience in data governance and working with software engineering teams is highly desirable.

As a pivotal element within the BRC, SAFEHR facilitates research teams' access to critical clinical data, leveraging electronic health records and additional data resources. Anchoring the data and computational research realms of the BRC, the SAFEHR significantly contributes to advancing clinical and clinical informatics research.

Collaborate with leading clinicians and scientists dedicated to utilising data for research, all with the ultimate goal of making a tangible impact on patient care.

Main duties of the job

? Work with technical leads to spearhead project delivery within UCL/UCLH BRC Clinical SAFEHR, overseeing resource allocation and utilisation. This will include creating project plans which will require monitoring and adjusting as new research priorities emerge.? You will run our data governance pathways; Data Access Process for Research and Education ? Coordination of operational management support systems, establishing synergistic work practices with UCLH and UCL staff.? Foster a positive team environment through mentorship, engagement initiatives, and promoting exceptional customer service.? Lead governance processes related to data access, working closely with Information Governance Teams

? Conduct regular meetings with senior personnel to align work priorities, identify training needs, and evaluate performance of project staff.? Contribute to the efficient functioning of the SAFEHR ensuring preparation of agendas, papers, and minutes for key meetings.? Responsibility for creating standard operating procedures for delivery of projects related to data access? Ensure adherence to BRC Standard Operating Procedures and report regularly on operational progress and impact.? Maintain adaptability and flexibility, thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture with a service-oriented mindset.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential
  • Masters level qualification and/or appropriate professional qualification or equivalent in a scientific discipline.
  • Good understanding of running technical projects in the digital data and technology space
  • Good understanding of governance requirements in the digital data and technology space
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, scope analysis, feasibility assessment, requirements specification, and software delivery/implementation
Desirable
  • Good understanding of health informatics / within a healthcare setting
  • Good understanding of analytics in a healthcare environment for research and innovation
  • Good understanding of software development in a healthcare environment for research and innovation
  • Good understanding of electronic health records

Experience

Essential
  • Substantial relevant experience of managing complex technical projects in digital data and technology space
  • Experience of leading and supervising a team
Desirable
  • Some understanding of biomedical scientific terms/ability to formulate documents that include scientific detail
  • Strong understanding of the clinical informatics environment
