Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated Data Delivery Project Manager. This post will be an exciting opportunity to be part of the team supporting the delivery of the Wessex SDE (Secure Data Environment) and the Southampton Emerging Therapies and Technologies (SETT) Centre, to scale data for research across the region and nationally.

These Data Delivery Project Management posts will be responsible for project managing a range projects both establishing data pipelines across the Wessex SDE footprint and specific large scale commercial and academic data projects.

These posts will sit within the SETT Centre team and work to support data delivery projects for the Wessex SDE.

About the teamThese posts will sit within the SETT Centre team and work to support data delivery projects for the Wessex SDE.

The SETT Data & AI Research Unit is the data science arm of the hospital. The team develop data pipelines to extract clinical data (structured data, clinical letters, images, genomics) from clinical data systems for provision to the SDE. The team works closely with R&D to ensure that all data contracts, funding, governance and sponsorship is in place.

UHS is host of the Wessex Secure Data Environment (SDE) part of a national programme aimed at maximising the use of NHS data providing safer, more secure, and faster access to different types of NHS data as well as ensure consistent standards and interoperability. The SDE is manged by CIRU our University of Southampton partner (https://wessexsde.nhs.uk).

Manage delivery of technical enablement and healthcare research projects, data marts and data pipelines Work with a range of stakeholders across Wessex to deliver data projects (NHS acute, community and GP data providers) liaising with clinical, technical and senior management teams. Liaise with SETT Data, R&D and CIRU (University of Southampton) personnel Work across the SDE network and wider national groups (e.g. BRC, genomics Networks, NHS E) for coordination and delivery of national projects Establish and operate Programme and project governance

Person Specification

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential
  • Relevant Batchelor Degree (Tech, Business, Change) or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience
  • Masters or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience
  • Recognised Project Management qualification to practitioner level or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the management and successful delivery of full project lifecycle (including pre-project phases) of medium projects.
  • Practical experience of presenting complex and technical information to internal and external groups.
  • Project management skills including use of multiple methodologies e.g., waterfall and agile
Desirable
  • Recognised relevant change management qualifications e.g., relating to risk, benefits, change, business analysis, or continuous improvement
  • Other project and change management training courses
  • Staff management training courses
  • Management and successful delivery of full project lifecycle of medium, small and very small change projects (including pre-project phases) in an Acute NHS Trust, a provider NHS (non-acute) or the NHS.
  • Evidence of recent further professional development
