Pharmacy IT Support Officer
Job summary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
The post holder will be part of a team responsible for providing IT support to the UHNM Pharmacy Directorate.They will be the first line of support for faults and queries relating to Pharmacy specific IT systems, software and hardware, escalating issues as required to the Pharmacy IT Support Manager, Digital Service desk and third party technical support as relevant.
Daily system housekeeping and administration will also be part of the role; especially with key systems notably Ascribe, Pharmacy Tracker, Episys, Omnicell and business continuity solutions.
The postholder maybe required to also travel and work at County Hospital.
Main duties of the job
- To engage in daily communications with all levels of Directorate staff including clinicians, nurses, technical, management and administrative grades. To provide first line support and advice to the user community on the use and operation of Pharmacy IT System
- To represent the department to all users in a polite and helpful manner either noting requirements to be passed to the appropriate Pharmacy IT team members or dealing with requests as appropriate
- To engage in collaborative teamwork with Pharmacy IT Systems suppliers and other IT Support staff
- To have a working knowledge of computer equipment and systems and to provide first line support for these items where appropriate. This will include a variety of Pharmacy label and laser printers, PCs and other computer peripherals, such as digital dictation and voice recognition equipment and barcode readers, etc
- To have a working Knowledge of Pharmacy systems such as Ascribe, Pharmacy Tracker, Episys including routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting; after training has been provided
- To assist the Pharmacy IT team in supporting a large number of users from a wide range of disciplines with varying levels of IT knowledge and skills
- To participate in project specific tasks both within Pharmacy and across the Trust that require knowledge of the Pharmacy IT Systems.

Qualifications
- Good level of qualifications, at GCSE equivalent or higher
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Formal IT/Admin qualifications (Microsoft, ITIL etc)
