Band 2 QE Outpatients Receptionist
Job summary
We are seeking two enthusiastic, professional, and experienced Receptionists to join the QE Outpatient Departments team. These are full-time, patient-facing roles based on busy reception areas, providing a high-quality service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.
The successful candidates will work as part of a supportive team, managing a high volume of patient interactions, booking and amending appointments using hospital IT systems, and responding efficiently to a wide range of enquiries. The roles require individuals who can deliver excellent customer service while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced and often demanding environment.
Applicants should possess a good standard of education, strong keyboard and administrative skills, knowledge of office procedures, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care, together with the ability to remain calm and organised under pressure, is essential.
Full training will be provided on all relevant hospital IT systems and processes.

QE OPD Receptionist -- Agenda for Change Band 2
Full Time -- 37.5 Hours per Week
The QE Outpatient Department is seeking motivated and professional individuals to join the reception team. The post holder will provide a high-quality frontline reception service, supporting the smooth and efficient operation of outpatient clinics.
Key responsibilities include using the Trust's electronic systems, including OPTIMS, Oceano and Clinical Portal, to register patients on arrival, verify and update demographic information, ensure correct patient pathways are followed, arrange follow-up appointments as requested, scan and upload documentation, produce labels and undertake other administrative tasks as required.
Successful candidates will be expected to adhere to established departmental processes and procedures at all times. Working collaboratively with nurses, clinicians and colleagues across Outpatient Services, the post holder will play a vital role in delivering an efficient, supportive and professional patient experience, ensuring the smooth flow of patients throughout their outpatient journey.
You will become part of a well-established and dedicated team providing outpatient services Monday to Saturday, between 08:00 and 17:00

Qualifications
- *Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) or GCSE Level 9-4
Experience
- *Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook)
- *Experience of using IT systems
- *Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment
