Band 2 Receptionist Clinical - Therapy Services
Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced receptionist to work in the Therapy Services Outpatient Department, which deals with over 300 outpatient appointments each day. We are looking for a flexible, motivated and professional individual with a pleasant manner and "can do" approach to join our team. You should possess commitment to team working and innovative delivery of excellent standards of work.
Applicants should have a good standard of education, keyboard skills, office procedures, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a very busy and often pressurised environment. Experience of working in the NHS is desirable, however full training will be given. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to cover Department opening hours, 7:45 -- 17:00, e.g. 7:45 -- 15:45, 8:00 -- 16:00 or 9:00 -- 17:00

Main duties of the job
The role will include a variety of tasks from answering the telephone and greeting patients to a range of admin tasks within the department. You will be the first point of contact for patients attending the Therapy Services Outpatient Department. The Main duties of the job are:
*To provide an efficient and effective frontline clinic reception service, to ensure that patients, staff and visitors are greeted correctly.
*To receive and direct all visitors in a pleasant, tactful and understanding manner, while ensuring that the patient's overall experience is of the
best in care.
*Obtain information from staff, patients and relatives in order to assist with their enquires.
*Complete requested electronical clinical outcomes and appointments on the PAS system and other IT systems.
*Deal with patient queries and telephone enquiries in a professional, courteous and informative manner, and liaise with Therapists and other
NHS professional agencies.

Qualifications
- *Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
Experience
- *Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
- *Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
- *Experience of using IT systems
- *Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment
- *Experience of working in Healthcare

- *Good communication / customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion
- *Standard keyboard / IT skills
