As a talented .NET web application developer, you will be at the forefront of providing one of the UK's leading healthcare benchmarking platforms, HED (Healthcare Evaluation Data www.hed.nhs.uk).
A key member of the HED Team, you will be required to work collaboratively with data scientists, analysts and business managers as you directly impact the development and maintenance of HED system websites.

Main duties of the job
In your role as a developer in the HED team, you'll get to:
-apply your advanced skills in .NET web application development and MS SQL Server products to tackle compelling technical problems.
-develop new skills and work within a close-knit, enthusiastic, and highly effective team with a strong ethos of personal development.
-showcase your people and project management skills and experience as you line manage and help mentor junior developers whilst working in sprints.
-empower clinical and non-clinical end users across the NHS as you build application functionality to meet national and local requirements for the HED system.
Our team is based at Yardley Court with easy access to public transport. As a Trust we have a fantastic flexible working policy which allows movement away from the standard 9-5pm. This could include compressed working hours, a hybrid model of office and home working or the option to buy and sell annual leave. Additionally, we have a renowned benefits package that includes a pension from day one.
Shortlisted applicants be welcomed by the team to a two-stage interview. This will consist of an in person practical, to be held at our Yardley Court offices in Five Ways. Here you will have the opportunity to meet the team and explore how our works supports our user base across the NHS. From there successful applicants will be required to attend a final interview to be held via Teams.

Qualifications
- Educated to master's degree level Computer Science or equivalent, relevant post graduate professional qualification or equivalent experience in
- -Evidence of further professional development.
- -A certificate in using Microsoft Office applications.
- -Microsoft Certified in the use of SQL Server.
Experience
- -Demonstrable and significant experience in the following
- Transact SQL
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Database Design
- Web Development
- -Substantial experience, in a software design, development and support environment that involves complex computer systems.
- -Experience of analysing and interpreting complex information and presenting it in a simplified manner.
- -Experience of Web technologies e.g.
- HTML, JavaScript.
- -Demonstrable and significant experience in the use of Visual Studio.
- -Demonstrable experience of working in a response-critical environment where system up-time and availability is paramount.
- -Demonstrable experience of developing applications using ASP.NET C#, MVC, Web Forms and JavaScript.
- -Demonstrable experience of interfacing between systems using messaging standards such as XML or similar.
- -Good working knowledge of XML, XSLT, and JSON.
- -Good appreciation of confidentiality issues and the Data Protection Act.
- -Experience of handling, analysing, and manipulating large, complex datasets.
- -Experience in management of others' workloads, including the delegation of jobs.
- -A strong working knowledge of the NHS Data Dictionary and Data Definitions as well as clinical terminology.
- -Demonstrable understanding of NHS care structures and information flows within and between health organisations.
- -Knowledge and understanding of relevant procedures and guidelines around health-related datasets, information sharing and data storage.
- -Knowledge and a strong interest in informatics, analytics and programming, underpinned by significant experience and/or theoretical study.
- -Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant NHS policies and initiatives.
