Job summary

We're looking for two talented IG professionals to join our team in IG-focused roles, centred on data protection, assurance and advisory work.

Main duties of the job

  • Leading on DPIAs, data sharing agreements and IG documentation
  • Providing expert IG advice to clinicians, managers and digital teams
  • Supporting incident management and data breach investigations, including ICO reporting
  • Delivering audits, compliance monitoring and assurance activity
  • Identifying risks, trends and opportunities for service improvement

Person Specification

Training, Knowledge and Experience

Essential
  • Good experience in IT or operational environment.
  • Experience delivering information governance support in a healthcare environment.
  • Significant experience working with staff to understand and resolve IG-related issues
  • Experience working with and analysing complex documentation and regulations.
  • Experience in planning and organising workload, meeting deadlines, and working to SLAs
  • Significant knowledge of practical application of information governance principles.
  • Familiarity with NHS clinical information systems (e.g., PAS, e-Prescribing, Bluespier).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development towards IG/GDPR Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Degree or further educational studies in a related subject to an equivalent level or equivalent experience

Communication Skills

Essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical, in relation to IG specialist subject matter
  • Strong negotiation, mediation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Capable of influencing clinicians and stakeholders to embrace information governance principles.

  • Confident and assertive in escalating issues and providing feedback
  • Able to deliver tailored training and presentations to diverse audiences

Essential
  • Ability to analyse complex documentation and identify critical trends or information that support the delivery needs of the IG function.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
  • Experience in critical evaluation of written materials and data.
  • Able to develop and implement effective solutions to IG problems.
