Main duties of the job
- Leading on DPIAs, data sharing agreements and IG documentation
- Providing expert IG advice to clinicians, managers and digital teams
- Supporting incident management and data breach investigations, including ICO reporting
- Delivering audits, compliance monitoring and assurance activity
- Identifying risks, trends and opportunities for service improvement

Person Specification
Training, Knowledge and Experience
- Good experience in IT or operational environment.
- Experience delivering information governance support in a healthcare environment.
- Significant experience working with staff to understand and resolve IG-related issues
- Experience working with and analysing complex documentation and regulations.
- Experience in planning and organising workload, meeting deadlines, and working to SLAs
- Significant knowledge of practical application of information governance principles.
- Familiarity with NHS clinical information systems (e.g., PAS, e-Prescribing, Bluespier).
- Evidence of continuing professional development towards IG/GDPR Practitioner or equivalent.
- Degree or further educational studies in a related subject to an equivalent level or equivalent experience
Communication Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical, in relation to IG specialist subject matter
- Strong negotiation, mediation, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Capable of influencing clinicians and stakeholders to embrace information governance principles.
- Confident and assertive in escalating issues and providing feedback
- Able to deliver tailored training and presentations to diverse audiences
Analytical Skills
- Ability to analyse complex documentation and identify critical trends or information that support the delivery needs of the IG function.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
- Experience in critical evaluation of written materials and data.
- Able to develop and implement effective solutions to IG problems.

- Experience in planning and organising day-to-day activities and workload
