Lead Insight Analyst

Job summary

The Senior Insight Analyst role is a fixed-term position for 18 months, responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and value-added analysis to meet the requirements of a data-driven Trust.

The analyst will proactively develop both quantitative and qualitative indicators to support the clinical and corporate divisions, acting as the information lead for a designated area.

The role involves promoting the effective use of information and reports managed by the Business Intelligence team, providing expert support for project work and decision-making, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of work produced.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver accurate, timely analysis to support clinical and corporate divisions.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of work, provide assurance to performance indicator leads, and represent the Business Intelligence department at meetings.
  • Act as lead for Insight Analysts, providing challenge and advice.
  • Provide expert advice, write complex queries/reports, and ensure data quality standards are met.
  • Ensure effective data collection and reporting systems, promote teamwork, and provide cover for absence.

Person Specification

Education

Essential
  • Degree level qualification in related subject or analytical / statistical qualification or experience.
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent

Experience

Essential
  • Expert in T- SQL script writing and SSRS/QlikView report writing or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of providing an information support service.
  • Evidence of strong report writing and presentation skills
  • Specialist knowledge and expertise across a range of areas, advises mangers on matters relating to statistical analysis and presentation of data
Desirable
  • Significant knowledge of NHS information requirements including Commissioning and Payment by Results.
