THE POST – REQ000627 - Student Hub Assistant
This post makes an important contribution to the student journey at UWS. The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with a wide range of enquiries from applicants, students, colleagues and visitors to the University. The Student Hub is the gateway to a wide range of services including student support, admissions, Registry, finance and IT.
The post holder will work as part of the Student Hub team to deliver an excellent service face-to-face, via email/self-service portal and chat to all students throughout their time at UWS and support the Student Hub Co-ordinator to ensure enquiries are responded to accurately within an agreed timescale. The post is based at our Paisley campus located in the centre of the town with good transport links, bike storage and car parking available.
You will work with students and colleagues from across all UWS campuses and beyond, to proactively provide information and assistance, diagnosing enquiries and escalating if necessary.You will proactively contribute to a culture of positivity and enthusiasm to ensure students are at the heart of everything that we do.
The working pattern is flexible, and can be discussed at interview, some examples of this would be:
- 3 days per week, usually 09.00 – 17.00 (Monday, Friday and one other day)
- 4 days per week sessional/term-time approx. 38 weeks per year (Monday, Friday and two other days)
- Shorter working hours over more days of the week, starting later and/or finishing earlier
Due to the nature of this role and working pattern it is not suitable for current UWS students.
The successful candidate should have the following:
- Educated to HNC level or equivalent
- Previous experience in a customer service/customer facing in a highly customer focussed environment (preferably in further or higher education)
- Experience in a help desk/information service role in a highly customer focussed environment
- Experience of using customer services IT systems such as enquiry management and client/case management systems
