We’re now hiring a Founding AI Consultant to lead client-facing discovery, design and delivery of AI programmes alongside our Co-Founders: scoping use cases, running workshops, building implementation plans, and turning pilot results into platform contracts.

🔑 The Role

You’ll be the first dedicated consulting hire, responsible for:

• Leading AI Discovery workshops with client stakeholders, from C-suite to operational teams
• Scoping use cases, mapping data landscapes, and designing decision workflows that deliver measurable outcomes
• Building business cases, implementation roadmaps, and ROI models that justify investment
• Supporting pilot delivery: defining success criteria, tracking milestones, and collecting Impact Ledger data on expected vs. realised outcomes
• Translating technical capability into language the boardroom trusts
• Feeding client insight back into product: what’s working, what’s missing, what to build next

The founders lead strategy and close deals. You’re the person who makes every engagement rigorous, structured, and valuable enough to expand.

🧠 What You’ll Actually Do

• Run structured discovery sessions: stakeholder interviews, process mapping, data audits, opportunity scoring
• Produce professional deliverables: workshop reports, use case prioritisation matrices, architecture recommendations, pilot plans
• Work with engineering to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound and deliverable
• Present findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders
• Track pilot KPIs and compile evidence packs that turn pilots into multi-year platform contracts
• Stay current on AI capabilities, tooling, and enterprise deployment patterns — and bring that knowledge into every engagement
• Use AI daily for research, analysis, drafting, and delivery at speed. We embrace the use of paid AI tools to maximise your personal productivity.

🧩 Who This Is For

You’ll likely be a strong fit if you:

• Have 5+ years in consulting, solutions architecture, enterprise AI/data, or a senior client-facing technical role
• Can run a room. You’re comfortable leading workshops with the C-Suite & Senior Leadership, asking the right questions and steering toward outcomes
• Write clearly and professionally. Every deliverable you produce represents Unloq.
• Understand how AI systems actually work in production: not just the hype cycle!
• Can bridge the gap between what’s technically possible and what’s commercially valuable
• Bonus: you have existing relationships in the West Midlands business ecosystem — manufacturing, automotive, financial services, property, or public sector
• Dealbreakers: all theory and no delivery, can’t simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences, no interest in building repeatable frameworks from scratch.

Type: Part-time (2+ days pw), founding role, with the possibility of FT

Location: Hybrid: Mix of remote and on-site client work with occassional team days at our Birmingham office

Reporting to: Co-Founder / CEO

Compensation: Competitive day rate + equity options
