Our client is looking for an experienced AV Electronics Repair Technician to join a busy technical operation in the Uxbridge area.

Previous experience repairing professional audio visual equipment is strongly preferred, particularly across sound, video, lighting, broadcast or live production equipment. Strong component-level electronics repair experience is also essential.

This is a hands-on workshop role for someone who enjoys diagnosing faults properly, carrying out detailed repairs and getting technical equipment back into reliable working order.

The role

You will investigate faults, repair electronic equipment and test completed work before items are returned to use.

Your work will include diagnosing analogue and digital faults, carrying out component-level repairs and replacing defective components where required.

You will use standard electronic test equipment to support fault finding and carry out soldering and de-soldering across both through-hole and surface-mount components.

You will also help with equipment quality checks, maintain accurate repair records and assist with identifying recurring faults or reliability issues.

From time to time, you may support the assessment of unfamiliar equipment, parts requirements or more complex technical problems. Electronics Repair Technician

What we are looking for

Previous hands-on electronics repair experience is essential.

You should have practical experience with:

  • Component-level fault finding and repair
  • Analogue and digital circuitry
  • Soldering and de-soldering
  • Surface-mount and through-hole components
  • Multimeters, oscilloscopes and similar test equipment
  • Mechanical dismantling and reassembly
  • Accurate technical record keeping

Previous experience repairing professional AV equipment is strongly preferred. Experience with audio, video, lighting, broadcast, live events or production equipment would all be particularly relevant.

Candidates from another technically demanding electronics repair background may also be considered where their skills are genuinely transferable.

A qualification in electronics, electrical engineering or another relevant technical discipline is required.

Good mechanical ability, basic computer skills and a methodical approach to fault finding are also important.
