Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Repair Technician to join a busy specialist technical operation in West London.
This is a hands-on senior position for someone who enjoys practical electronics repair but is also comfortable taking greater ownership of technical standards, workflow and problem solving within a workshop environment.
You will remain actively involved in fault finding and repair work while also helping ensure that jobs are completed efficiently, accurately and to a consistently high standard.
The role
You will work across a varied range of professional electronic equipment, investigating faults, carrying out repairs and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day workshop activity.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing electrical and electronic faults
- Carrying out complex repairs and maintenance
- Testing completed work and confirming correct operation
- Helping prioritise repair activity and manage workload through the workshop
- Maintaining clear and accurate technical records
- Supporting quality standards across completed repairs
- Identifying repeated or unusual faults and helping determine appropriate solutions
- Assisting with parts and component requirements
- Providing technical advice and practical support to colleagues
- Helping improve workshop procedures and repair processes where appropriate
This remains a practical role, so you should expect to spend a significant amount of time working directly on equipment rather than moving into a purely supervisory position.
What we are looking for
You will need a relevant technical qualification in electronics, electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
Strong hands-on electronics repair experience is essential, together with confidence diagnosing faults and working independently through more complex technical problems.
Experience gained with professional sound, video, lighting, broadcast, communications, production or other specialist electronic equipment would be particularly valuable.
Candidates from other professional electronics, technical service, bench repair or equipment-maintenance environments may also have relevant transferable experience.
You should be organised, comfortable managing several priorities at once and able to maintain accurate technical documentation.
Previous experience supporting, mentoring or providing technical guidance to another technician would be useful, although this remains primarily a hands-on technical role.
