Infrastructure Engineer - Network/Datacentre Services (Meraki) - Leatherhead, Surrey (Hybrid)

My Surrey base client are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to assist their Core Services team for an initial 6 month contract. This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work from their offices based in Leatherhead, Surrey 2 days per week. There may also be travel to other sites/datacentres along with some out of hours work to facilitate planned WAN cutovers.

This role will suit an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who has exposure working in large scale enterprise environments (5000+ users) supporting core network services and datacentres. You will need be able to concisely demonstrate your past experience across networking, virtualisation, storage, backup, monitoring, utilising collaboration tools and managing on-premise hardware.

The key deliverables for this role are:

  • Support BAU operations across networking (Meraki LAN/Wi-Fi), VMware, NetApp storage, Commvault/Veeam backups, Check Point Firewalls, Microsoft Teams/MTRs/Teams Phone, Xerox Workplace Cloud printing, DHCP/DNS, and physical infrastructure.
  • Assist with WAN Replacement Project, supporting site readiness, pre/post cutover testing and some out-of-hours migration support.
  • Perform 3rd line troubleshooting and own incidents, problems, and changes through to resolution.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation including knowledge base articles and project artifacts.
  • Support VMware vSphere operations including VM life cycle management and host performance.
  • Support NetApp storage operations including monitoring, capacity, LUN/share management, and engaging vendor support.
  • Support Commvault/Veeam backup operations, address failed jobs, perform restorations, and ensure backup integrity.
  • Support Teams collaboration services, including troubleshooting MTRs, Teams Phone, and AV/peripheral issues.
  • Support SolarWinds monitoring, triage alerts, analyse dependencies, investigate performance issues and escalate where required.
  • Provide support for enterprise printing using Xerox Workplace Cloud.
  • Work with vendors including BT, hardware suppliers, cloud vendors, and managed service partners.
  • Participate in planned out-of-hours work (typically 2-3 hours/week) for WAN cutovers.
  • Ensure all work meets defined change control, quality, and documentation standards.

Please note that this role is inside IR35 and if successful, you will be required to go through an FCSA approved umbrella company.
