IT Infrastructure Engineer Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland Working Arrangement: Hybrid Contract Type: Temporary - strong opportunity of move to permanent Rate: 30-40k pa, depending on experience Are you an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity in Belfast? We are currently supporting a leading public sector organisation in Belfast that is looking to bring an IT Infrastructure Engineer into the team on a temporary contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional to join a busy technical environment, work on a variety of infrastructure projects and make an immediate impact. The Role As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving a range of core IT infrastructure services. You will work closely with internal IT teams and stakeholders to ensure systems remain secure, reliable and highly available. Typical responsibilities may include: Supporting Windows Server environments and Active Directory Managing Microsoft 365 and Azure services Supporting virtualised environments such as VMware or Hyper-V Monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure performance Managing networking, connectivity and core infrastructure services Supporting backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions Investigating and resolving escalated infrastructure incidents Implementing infrastructure changes and technical improvements Supporting security and patch management activities Assisting with infrastructure projects, migrations and upgrades Producing technical documentation and maintaining infrastructure standards About You We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer with solid hands-on experience in a corporate or enterprise environment. You are likely to have experience with several of the following: Windows Server Active Directory / Group Policy Microsoft 365 / Azure VMware or Hyper-V Networking fundamentals - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs Backup and disaster recovery Monitoring and infrastructure management tools PowerShell or other scripting technologies ITIL-based service environments Infrastructure security and patching Relevant Microsoft, VMware, Cisco or other industry certifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
