About you You'll be an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer with around 2-5 years' experience across software testing and quality assurance. You'll ideally have experience across both manual and automated testing and be comfortable working as part of an Agile delivery team. We're looking for someone with: Experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar Strong programming/scripting skills using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript or a similar language Experience with API testing Knowledge of Jira and test management tools such as Zephyr Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Git Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies Experience creating and maintaining test cases, test plans and test evidence Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with Developers, Business Analysts and Product Owners A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in improving quality and learning new technologies Experience with AI-assisted testing or development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Amazon Q or similar would be highly beneficial. Any exposure to financial services, trading platforms, FIX protocol, BDD/Cucumber, AWS, performance testing or microservices would also be advantageous. What you'll do As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll play an important role in ensuring quality is built into the software development lifecycle from the very beginning. You'll be responsible for: Designing and executing manual and automated test cases Developing and maintaining automated UI, API and integration test suites Working closely with Developers, Business Analysts and Product Owners to understand requirements Supporting BDD and TDD practices Carrying out functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing Identifying, documenting and tracking defects through to resolution Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates Testing APIs and integrations across different platforms Contributing to performance and non-functional testing Monitoring test results and reporting on quality and progress Increasing automation coverage and improving testing efficiency Using AI-assisted tools to improve test design, automation and productivity Sharing knowledge and promoting best practice across the wider technology team Most importantly, you'll be joining a team at an exciting point of expansion, where you'll have the opportunity to help shape the continued growth of the Belfast technology function rather than simply joining an established team and maintaining the status quo.
