Job Description My client, a Global technology company, is hiring a Back-End Software Engineer (Java) to join an established engineering team based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative team responsible for developing and enhancing large-scale backend platforms that power mission-critical enterprise applications used by customers across the globe. The team is responsible for building secure, high-performance distributed systems, delivering new functionality while continuously improving platform reliability, automation and operational excellence. As a Back-End Software Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain enterprise-scale Java backend services and APIs. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, DevOps and Site Reliability teams to build robust, scalable applications deployed within cloud environments. You'll contribute to backend architecture, infrastructure improvements, CI/CD automation and production support while ensuring systems remain highly available, secure and maintainable. The Person Commercial experience developing Java server-side applications Experience building, deploying and supporting software in production environments Strong understanding of scalable backend architecture and distributed systems Experience with RESTful APIs and backend integrations Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation Experience working within Agile development teams Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to take ownership of features from design through to deployment Excellent communication and collaborative working skills Passion for learning new technologies and engineering best practices Desirable Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration Knowledge of Helm or similar deployment tooling Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP Familiarity with DevOps or GitOps methodologies Experience working with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB or Redis Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Jenkins or ArgoCD For further information on this job, or any other Software Development opportunities in Belfast or Northern Ireland, apply via the link or contact your recruitment consultant for a confidential discussion today.
