IT Support Manager – Futures (Associate Director)

We are looking for an experienced IT Support Manager with strong exposure to the Futures trading environment to join a leading front-office technology team within a fast-paced investment banking setting.

This role will support critical Futures trading infrastructure and applications, ensuring stability, performance, and operational excellence across trading and exchange connectivity platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with traders, operations, and technology teams to support day-to-day trading activities and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production support for Futures trading and settlement systems
• Monitor and support exchange connectivity platforms and trading applications
• Troubleshoot complex system, connectivity, and trade flow issues in a high-pressure trading environment
• Work closely with front-office users, infrastructure teams, and external vendors
• Support automation, reporting, and operational improvement initiatives
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and system optimisation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements
• Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, and support processes

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in application support or production support within a Futures trading environment
• Strong knowledge of:
• Futures trading and settlement systems
• Exchange connectivity and trade flow processes
• Front-office support environments
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as:
• ION
• FIS
• Trading Technologies (TT)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with system monitoring and support tools
• Understanding of market regulations and operational controls, including:
• FCA
• EMIR

Preferred Skills

• Experience with scripting and automation using:
• Python
• Shell scripting
• PowerShell
• Knowledge of electronic trade matching and clearing processes
• Experience supporting exchange connectivity and FIX messaging environments
• Exposure to automation and reporting improvements

Candidate Profile

• Strong technical support professional with excellent understanding of Futures markets
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced trading floor environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Able to manage incidents effectively under pressure
• Experience gained within investment banks, brokerages, or trading firms preferred
