Principal Business Analyst – Cash Equity Trading (AD / Director)

Salary: Up to 80K / 150K depending on experience

Level: Associate Director / Director

We are seeking an experienced Principal Business Analyst with deep expertise in Cash Equity Trading to join a high-performing front-office technology and trading environment within a leading investment banking setting.

This is a senior-facing role working directly with traders on the trading floor, acting as the bridge between front-office business stakeholders and offshore development teams based in China and India. The successful candidate will play a critical role translating trading requirements into clear functional specifications for delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Cash Equity traders and front-office stakeholders to gather and define business requirements
  • Translate complex trading workflows and business needs into detailed functional requirements for development teams
  • Liaise with offshore Quant Development and technology teams across China and India
  • Support enhancements and change initiatives across OMS / EMS trading platforms
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across trading, technology, and operations teams
  • Manage requirements, user stories, and delivery tracking through Jira and/or ServiceNow
  • Participate in testing, implementation support, and production rollout activities
  • Ensure solutions align with trading workflows, regulatory requirements, and operational processes

Required Experience

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst within an investment banking environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Cash Equity Trading
  • Proven experience working directly with traders on a trading floor
  • Strong understanding of:
  • OMS / EMS systems
  • Trade flows and order lifecycle
  • High Touch Trading
  • Program Trading
  • DMA / DSA environments
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements for technology teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience using Jira and/or ServiceNow (Snow)

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with MiFID trade reporting
  • Exposure to offshore/global delivery models
  • Previous experience working with Quant Development teams
  • Strong understanding of front-office technology environments

Candidate Profile

  • Senior-level Business Analyst with excellent front-office exposure
  • Must come from an investment banking background
  • Comfortable interacting directly with traders and senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of equity trading workflows and systems
  • Not a hands-on developer role - this position is focused on business analysis, stakeholder management, and requirement translation
