Our client is a leading technology infrastructure and systems integration business delivering projects across commercial, construction, education, retail and hospitality sectors. With a strong reputation for delivering complex technology and infrastructure solutions, they provide end-to-end services from consultancy and design through to implementation, support and managed services.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) background to join their delivery team.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of multiple Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, you will lead project teams while managing commercial, operational and technical project requirements. You will also support the delivery of wider technology infrastructure projects involving Converged Network Solutions (CNS), Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Audio Visual (AV) solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple Structured Cabling Systems projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Lead project planning, programming, documentation and reporting activities.
  • Act as the primary client contact and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Monitor project performance against programme, budget and commercial objectives.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies and mitigation plans.
  • Identify and control scope changes and variation orders.
  • Produce regular project reports, including programme updates and financial performance tracking.
  • Oversee project financials, payment applications and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) processes.
  • Support bid submissions, project costing and pre-construction activities.
  • Mentor and support junior Project Managers and wider delivery teams.
  • Escalate key project issues and provide solutions to maintain successful project outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services, project variations and ongoing support contracts.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) projects from inception through to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of copper and fibre cabling infrastructure, containment systems, testing and certification processes.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, financial reporting, payment applications, CVRs and variation orders.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to identify, build, lead and mentor successful project teams.
  • Strong understanding of where construction delivery meets technical infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of Converged Network Solutions (CNS), Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Audio Visual (AV) technologies.
  • Understanding of network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, WAN circuits and IP-based technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Awareness of cyber security principles and best practices.
  • Exposure to IoT devices, smart building technologies and Building Management Systems (BMS) would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project and project management software tools.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent Project Management qualification preferred.
  • APM, BICSI, CNet or other industry-recognised certifications would be advantageous.
