Billing Manager | £48,000–£55,000 + Benefits | West Yorkshire (Hybrid)

Lead a billing team. Protect revenue. Shape how a growing tech services business gets paid.

Our client is a fast-growing, award-winning technology and managed services provider, trusted by organisations to deliver secure, high-performing IT and telecoms solutions. As they continue to scale, they're looking for an experienced Billing Manager to take ownership of their end-to-end billing function and lead a talented team of six.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a billing professional who thrives on accuracy, loves a good spreadsheet, and wants genuine ownership of a function that sits right at the heart of the business.

Why this role?
  • Real ownership – you'll own the monthly billing cycle from start to finish, not just a slice of it.
  • A team to lead and grow – manage, coach and develop six billing professionals.
  • Variety that keeps things interesting – recurring billing, usage billing (CDR/SDR), margin assurance, supplier reconciliation and system improvement projects.
  • Influence across the business – work closely with Commercial, Operations, Projects and Finance, with a genuine mandate to improve processes, not just maintain them.
  • Hybrid working – flexibility to balance office collaboration with working from home.
What you'll be doing
  • Leading, coaching and developing a billing team of six.
  • Owning the monthly billing cycle, ensuring invoices are accurate, timely and error-free.
  • Managing recurring and usage billing across telecoms and managed services.
  • Validating and reconciling CDR/SDR usage data and supplier invoices.
  • Driving margin assurance activity and identifying revenue leakage.
  • Handling complex customer billing scenarios and exceptions.
  • Partnering with Commercial, Operations, Projects and Finance to ensure seamless customer onboarding and billing.
  • Building out billing processes, controls and KPIs that scale with the business.
  • Producing management reporting and billing analysis using advanced Excel.
  • Supporting enhancements to billing systems (e.g. NetSuite, Halo, aBILLity).
  • Owning supplier invoice reconciliation and maintaining accurate COGS data.
  • Producing supplier performance scorecards to support supplier reviews.
  • Reducing billing errors to minimise credits and improve accuracy across the board.
What we're looking for
  • 5+ years' experience in a telecoms billing, finance or revenue assurance role.
  • Proven experience managing and developing a billing team.
  • Strong grounding in telecoms billing – recurring billing, usage billing, CDR/SDR processing and supplier reconciliations.
  • A track record in margin assurance and improving billing accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel skills – Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Power Query, and comfort handling large datasets.
  • Experience with billing/ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Halo, aBILLity or similar.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with real attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator and relationship-builder across Finance, Commercial, Operations and Customer Success.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset – you enjoy making things better, not just keeping them running.
  • A relevant finance, business or accounting qualification is a bonus, but not essential.
