Legal Counsel – Global SaaS / HR Tech

Location: UK (Flexible / Hybrid)

Salary: £75,000 – £95,000 (depending on experience)

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, global HR technology business that helps companies simplify recruiting, onboarding, and talent management. Following recent investment and ambitious growth plans, they are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join their international legal team.

The Role

Reporting to the General Counsel (based in Australia) and working closely with the UK Sales team, you’ll provide practical, commercially-focused legal advice across the business. This is a hands-on role with broad exposure to international SaaS operations, giving you the opportunity to shape policies and contracts in a growing, global environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead client contract management and negotiation, supporting the Sales team on new business and upsell opportunities
• Drive UK/EU data protection and AI compliance initiatives, including adherence to the EU AI Act
• Provide timely, commercially-relevant legal advice across privacy, IP, employment, supplier contracts, and general SaaS business matters
• Collaborate with global teams to implement practical legal solutions that enable business growth

About You

• 4–6 PQE qualified lawyer, licensed in England & Wales or Ireland
• Experience in SaaS or technology companies, ideally with in-house legal experience
• Strong contract negotiation skills and broad commercial law expertise
• Knowledge of EU data protection and AI regulations
• Pragmatic, resourceful, and commercially minded, able to combine technical legal skills with practical business sense
• Enjoys autonomy, ownership, and cross-department collaboration in a fast-paced environment
