A fast-growing fintech start-up is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help scale its platform and build robust, high-performance backend systems. This is an opportunity to work on greenfield projects rather than legacy code, with real influence over technical and architectural decisions as the business grows.

You will join a collaborative engineering team focused on building secure, scalable and well-tested systems in a modern cloud environment.

The Role

You will take ownership of backend development across the platform, contributing to the design and delivery of high-quality, scalable applications. This role suits a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem solving, learning new technologies and working in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test backend applications
  • Analyse, maintain and improve existing software
  • Build scalable, testable and maintainable code
  • Identify and resolve software defects
  • Contribute to architectural and technical decision-making
  • Collaborate with product, engineering and other stakeholders to shape platform features

Technical Requirements

  • Five plus years’ experience in backend software engineering
  • Strong experience with C# .NET
  • Experience with automated testing and version control
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience with AWS
  • Experience using CI/CD tools such as GitHub

Nice to Have

  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience with React or native mobile app development
