Milton Keynes (3 days a week onsite)

Up to £40,000 per annum plus bonus

VIQU are currently working with an established software as a Service (SaaS) organisation who have had significant growth over the last three years, and so are looking to strengthen their application support teams.

Due to this, they are hiring a second line application support engineer to act as a technical escalation point, assisting customers with 2 line technical issues on their cloud SaaS platform. Please note this is focused on fixing software issues rather than infrastructure and IT issues.

Job duties of the Application Support Engineer

  • Provide second line software support to key customers.
  • Utilise SQL to support customers, rectify data issues and identify root causes.
  • Help to support patching, testing, software updates and cloning.
  • Troubleshoot issues with SQL Server and Azure.
  • Communicate with key customers within a timely manner.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, and document support investigations.

Experience required for the Application Support Engineer

  • Previous experience within software or application support focused roles.
  • Hands on experience with SQL or similar databases, ability to write queries and ideally stored procedures (nice to have).
  • The ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on learning and development.
