Azure Architect – Inside IR35 - Remote

VIQU IT are working with a leading Financial Services organisation in search of an Azure Architect Contractor to take ownership of day-to-day cloud project requests and enquiries. This will allow the core team to remain focused on delivering a major business-critical initiative.

The Azure Architect will work closely with the wider Solutions Architecture function—translating high-level designs (HLDs) into low-level designs (LLDs)—and provide ongoing support to the engineering teams through implementation and delivery. Strong communication skills and experience operating within a micro-segmented environment will be highly advantageous.

About the Azure Architect Role

As the Azure Architect, you’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and governing new cloud services. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, working side-by-side with other architecture and cloud platform engineering teams to drive secure, scalable cloud solutions.

Azure Architect Skills & Experience required:

• A strong background in leading and supporting IT technical implementation projects.
• Proven expertise in Azure architecture, including infrastructure, network design, and security architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and delivering infrastructure securely through automated pipelines.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into detailed, actionable technical designs and documentation.
• Experience in creating proofs of concept (PoCs) and validating technology choices against business needs.
• Clear communication skills — able to explain architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Confidence in leading design workshops and guiding teams toward actionable outcomes.
• A collaborative but decisive approach, comfortable navigating enterprise-level environments and stakeholder dynamics.
• Strategic mindset — balancing long-term vision with immediate project needs.
