Azure DevOps Engineer – Contract (6 Months)Location: London / HybridSecurity Clearance: Active or recent SC required

We’re partnering with a large organisation undergoing a significant Azure cloud transformation and are looking for a senior-level Azure DevOps Engineer to support the delivery of a modern, secure, and highly automated cloud platform.

This contract role is ideal for a hands-on DevOps specialist with deep Azure expertise and a strong Infrastructure-as-Code background, who enjoys working alongside engineering and product teams to enable scalable cloud solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing The Azure Devops Engineer will work as part of a cloud engineering team, contributing from early design through to deployment and ongoing platform support. The role centres on building and evolving Azure environments using modern DevOps tooling and practices, with a strong emphasis on automation and reliability.

Azure Devops Engineer’s Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Active or recently lapsed SC clearance
  • Extensive hands-on experience delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Git-based workflows (GitHub)
  • Advanced Infrastructure-as-Code experience, particularly with Terraform
  • Ability to collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to improve cloud capability
  • Experience in SRE or live production support is beneficial but not mandatory

Azure Devops Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the migration of applications and services into Azure
  • Support teams in applying the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)
  • Design, build, and enhance automated deployment pipelines
  • Develop and maintain IaC solutions using tools such as Terraform, Artifactory, and Backstage
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point across delivery, security, and engineering teams
  • Provide cloud platform support, including incident resolution and troubleshooting
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers, encouraging DevOps best practices
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to ensure successful delivery
