Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric – Remote – Outside
A Client is looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer who will establish the foundations of there modern data platform and upskill members of the business.
The successful Data Engineer will work along side internal teams and lead the delivery of the Microsoft Fabric pipeline while mentoring the team through the process.
Experience of the Data Engineer:
- Must have Strong Microsoft Fabric experience with a proven track record of designing and delivering data solutions.
- Must have experience with Fabric Lakehouse and Delta tables
- Must have extensive knowledge of SQL for data modelling and transformation
- Must have experience with ELT design and implementation within Fabric
- Must have Power BI experience
- Must have orchestrated a pipeline for troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Will have practical experience delivering end to end ingestion solutions involving on-premises source systems, gateways, connectivity troubleshooting, and scalable ingestion patterns.
Responsibilities of the Data Engineer:
- Design and build our first end-to-end Microsoft Fabric data pipeline.
- Resolve existing ingestion challenges, including on-premises gateway and Copy Job issues.
- Implement a scalable Lakehouse architecture using bronze, silver and gold layers.
- Build reusable ingestion patterns and pipeline templates for future use.
- Develop reporting-ready datasets and semantic models.
- Validate architecture and recommend Microsoft Fabric best practices.
- Pair with our internal engineers in live working sessions, explaining decisions and transferring knowledge throughout the engagement.
- Produce lightweight, practical documentation and runbooks that support future delivery.
The successful candidate will be working remotely but may be required to go to site in Birmingham to collect kit and meet stakeholders.
