VIQU has partnered with a leading organisation undergoing a major data and AI transformation to recruit a Head of AI Governance. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and embed AI governance frameworks within a highly regulated environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the ethical, compliant, and effective use of AI, supporting business growth while managing risk. This position is ideal for someone passionate about responsible AI, governance, and driving data-led innovation at scale.
Key Requirements – Head of AI Governance:
- Proven experience leading AI/ML governance within financial services or insurance.
- Strong expertise in machine learning, data science, and AI technologies (Python, R, etc.).
- Experience across insurance processes such as underwriting, pricing, claims, or fraud.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into AI-driven solutions.
- Experience managing AI model development and deployment at scale.
- Understanding of actuarial principles and insurance analytics.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including GDPR, FCA, and AI governance standards.
- Relevant certifications in AI, machine learning, or data science.
Key Responsibilities – Head of AI Governance:
- Develop and implement AI governance frameworks and policies aligned to business and regulatory requirements.
- Define and monitor compliance with GDPR, FCA guidelines, and emerging AI regulations.
- Identify and assess AI-related risks including bias, privacy, and model explainability.
- Develop risk assessment models across AI use cases such as underwriting, claims, and fraud detection.
- Implement controls, mitigations, and audit processes for AI systems and data usage.
- Design governance structures aligned with wider corporate governance frameworks.
- Monitor AI system performance, accuracy, and fairness against defined standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of AI models and outputs.
- Develop dashboards and reporting for AI governance and risk metrics visibility.
