IT Support Engineer - Manchester City Centre – Full-Time Onsite – ASAP Start
VIQU are currently seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join a busy onsite IT function based in Manchester City Centre. This role is focused on delivering high-quality 1st and 2nd line support within a fast-paced enterprise environment and would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on support role with strong user interaction.
The successful IT Support Engineer will provide a mixture of service desk, floorwalking, desk-side, and face-to-face support across the business, ensuring technical issues and service requests are resolved efficiently while delivering an excellent customer experience. This role requires strong stakeholder communication and engagement skills, as you will be supporting users at all levels across the organisation.
IT Support Engineer Key Responsibilities- Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to end users across the business
- Deliver face-to-face, desk-side, and floorwalking support within an onsite environment
- Log, troubleshoot, prioritise, and resolve incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs
- Support users with hardware, software, and connectivity issues across laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and meeting room technology
- Troubleshoot issues relating to Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Active Directory, VPNs, and standard business applications
- Provide proactive floorwalking support to users and meeting rooms across multiple office areas
- Escalate complex technical issues to relevant resolver groups where required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and provide clear communication throughout the support lifecycle
- Support onboarding activities including new starter setups, hardware deployments, account creation, and user administration
- Maintain accurate ticket updates, asset records, and technical documentation
- Assist with device lifecycle management and IT asset tracking
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the IT support function
- Proven experience within an IT Support Analyst, Desktop Support Engineer, Service Desk, or similar support role
- Strong experience delivering onsite face-to-face IT support and floorwalking support
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across a broad range of technologies
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Windows 10/11
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory
- Exchange / Outlook
- VPN connectivity
- Basic networking principles
- Mobile device support
- Experience using ticket management systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar
- High level of stakeholder communication and engagement is essential
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively within a busy support environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wider IT team
The successful IT Support Engineer you must be able to commit to 5 days per week onsite within central Manchester.
