Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Engineer | 3 – 6 months | Manchester | Hybrid

A global organisation is looking for a proactive infrastructure engineer on a contract basis, supporting and improving business infrastructure across the UK, EMEA and APAC.

The successful candidate will be working hands on within an engineering team to support projects including infrastructure refreshes, migrations and implementations while also providing BAU support to operational issues.

Key Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer:

• The improvement and management of infrastructure solutions across physical, virtual and cloud platforms.
• Deploying and configuring server hardware and software solutions, ensuring systems are securely optimised for performance and reliability.
• Conducting regular backups, patches and system updates.
• Maintenance and documentation of procedures, configurations and changes made within the business.
• Providing BAU support as a technical escalation point.
• Driving seamless integration through effective collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.

Experience and Technical ability of the Infrastructure Engineer:

• Deep knowledge and experience with VMware including vCenter, Clusters, HA, Replication and Host patches.
• Expertise of enterprise backup tool, VEEAM.
• Strong background using NetApp storage solutions.
• Hands on experience with Public & Private cloud environments.
• Skilled with Dell PowerEdge and data center operations.
• Familiarity with monitoring systems such as Solarwind.
• Has a deep understanding of network fundamentals including VLANs, TCP and DNS.
• Global enterprise infrastructure experience is desirable.

The successful Infrastructure engineer would be working an average of 1 day a week in Warrington.
