Senior Infrastructure / Server Engineer – 12 Month FTC

VIQU is working with a leading professional services organisation seeking an experienced Infrastructure / Server Engineer to support a Microsoft-focused hybrid environment (on-prem & cloud). This is a hands-on role involving BAU support, automation, and infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Be Doing as Senior Infrastructure / Server Engineer:
- Supporting and maintaining critical Microsoft infrastructure, including Active Directory and Windows Server estates
- Managing hybrid environments that integrate on-prem systems with Azure and Microsoft 365
- Working with identity and access technologies such as ADFS, SSO, and Entra ID
- Maintaining and improving virtualised environments (VMware) and enterprise storage platforms (e.g. Dell EMC, HPE, vSAN)
- Writing and enhancing scripts to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency
- Contributing to resilient infrastructure design, including clustering and high-availability solutions
- Following established IT service management practices (incident, change, and problem management)
- Partnering with internal teams to deliver upgrades, enhancements, and infrastructure projects
What We’re Looking For as Senior Infrastructure / Server Engineer:
- Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience (Windows Server 2016–2022, AD)
- Experience with Azure and Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of Entra ID and modern identity
- VMware or similar virtualisation experience
- Scripting skills (PowerShell or equivalent)
- Solid networking fundamentals
- Experience in ITIL or structured environments
