VIQU have partnered with a well-established UK technology business undergoing major transformation following a large-scale merger and platform evolution. They are investing heavily in building out a permanent cloud engineering capability and are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to help improve reliability, scalability and automation across their AWS platform.
This is a hands-on SRE role focused on modern cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and operational excellence. You’ll work closely with engineering and architecture teams to improve resilience, observability and deployment processes across distributed systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Improve reliability, scalability and performance across AWS environments.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK.
- Support containerised workloads across Kubernetes, EKS and ECS.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Drive improvements across monitoring, logging and observability tooling.
- Support incident management, root cause analysis and long-term platform stability.
- Embed DevOps and SRE best practices across engineering teams.
- Contribute to cloud security, patching and vulnerability management initiatives.
Key requirements:
- Strong experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps or Platform Engineering role.
- Excellent AWS knowledge with strong cloud infrastructure experience.
- Experience with AWS CDK and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong TypeScript experience preferred, although Python backgrounds will also be considered.
- Containerisation experience with Docker, Kubernetes, EKS or ECS.
- CI/CD experience using GitLab, Jenkins or similar tooling.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch or AppDynamics.
- Understanding of cloud security tooling including WAF, AWS Shield and vulnerability management.
- Experience with messaging or streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or Kinesis would be beneficial.
- AWS certifications are desirable but not essential.
