VIQU are partnering with a leading financial services organisation undergoing a major data transformation, with data playing a central role in its wider business strategy. They are seeking a Solution Data Architect to design and deliver robust, scalable data solutions across multiple projects, ensuring data models and architecture align with enterprise standards. The role will work closely with enterprise and solution architects, data teams and wider business stakeholders, acting as a trusted data architecture adviser while helping establish solution data architecture as a consistent and scalable practice.
Key Responsibilities of the Solution Data Architect:
• Produce high-quality solution data designs across multiple projects, aligned with wider enterprise architecture standards
• Develop and maintain solution data models and data dictionaries in line with enterprise and canonical data models
• Contribute to data impact assessments and help define data architecture guidance, standards and patterns
• Support data integration and canonical data exchange across strategic systems
• Ensure solution data designs align with data governance and Data Protection by Design principles
• Work closely with enterprise data architects to develop robust and scalable data plans
• Act as the project-level point of contact for data architecture, providing guidance to technical and business stakeholders
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, project managers, platform owners and third-party suppliers to deliver effective data solutions
• Support the continuous improvement of solution data architecture practices and approaches
Key Experience Required of the Solution Data Architect:
• Proven hands-on experience working as a Solution Data Architect
• Strong experience with data modelling, integration patterns and architectural design
• Hands-on experience with Erwin is required
• Strong understanding of data integration, database management, middleware and data protection principles
• Experience with enterprise data catalogue platforms, ideally Microsoft Purview
• Exposure to master and reference data management solutions such as Ataccama or Profisee would be advantageous
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack, including Azure, Databricks and Power BI
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively
