Test Analyst
Test Analyst – 3 Month Initial Contract – Remote / Cardiff
VIQU have partnered with an NHS organisation who are looking for a Test Analyst to provide independent assurance across data warehouse solutions, analytical models and reporting outputs.
The successful Test Analyst will ensure data products are accurate, reliable and fit for purpose, supporting operational, strategic and statutory reporting requirements. You'll be responsible for system, integration, regression and release testing across the end-to-end analytics data lifecycle.
Role responsibilities
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts and regression packs for data warehouse, BI and analytics solutions.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation across source systems, ETL processes, SQL Server data warehouses and Power BI outputs.
- Test SSIS packages, ETL workflows, stored procedures, database objects and data transformations.
- Validate business rules, calculations, KPIs, semantic model logic and Power BI reports against requirements.
- Manage defects through identification, logging, retesting and supporting root cause analysis.
- Support SIT, regression testing and UAT, collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure quality releases.
Key skills and experience required
- Strong experience as a Test Analyst, testing data warehouse, analytics or business intelligence solutions.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, views and functions.
- Hands-on experience testing SSIS packages, ETL processes and data transformations.
- Good understanding of data warehouse architectures and methodologies, including dimensional modelling concepts.
- Experience validating data quality, integrity, consistency and reconciliation across multiple data sources.
- Experience validating Power BI dashboards, reports, KPIs and semantic models.
- Ability to produce clear test documentation, defect reports and test evidence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues.
