VIQU has partnered with a leading advanced system integration provider seeking an Inspection & Test Engineer to join their Production team. This role is responsible for inspecting and testing equipment to ensure safety, compliance, and functionality across projects in energy, water, renewables, and manufacturing. You will work with electrical schematics and project-specific hardware test specifications to deliver high-quality outcomes, supporting both hardware and, occasionally, software testing.
Key Responsibilities of the Inspection & Test Engineer:

Inspect and test PLC-based automation control panels, IT cubicles, and peripheral equipment

Perform LVD electrical safety checks, earth bond continuity, high voltage and insulation resistance tests

Follow project-specific test specifications and maintain accurate documentation

Support ad-hoc software testing when required

Attend customer sites for acceptance testing when necessary

Ensure all work complies with company standards, ISO 9001 procedures, and Health & Safety requirements
Key Requirements:
-
Proven experience testing wired assemblies from back plate to fully assembled systems

Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, wiring schedules, and parts lists

Operational knowledge of components such as MCBs, RCDs, fuses, transformers, and other safety-critical components

Proficient in using electronic multimeters and other test equipment
-
Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system

Willingness and ability to work towards SC Clearance

Full driving licence
Qualifications & Personal Attributes:
-
Nationally recognised technical qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline (HNC/HND, 17th Edition C&G2382 & Inspection & Test, or modern apprenticeship)

Strong practical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability

Excellent communication and team-working skills

Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines
