The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a complex, high-profile website so it truly supports their mission, helps people navigate important information with confidence, and delivers against organisational priorities.
In this role, you’ll act as Product Owner for this complex website, owning the vision and roadmap while balancing user needs, organisational goals and technical delivery. You’ll:
- Lead the strategic development of the website as a core organisational channel
- Shape and deliver a long-term content and UX vision, informed by user insight and analytics
- Champion accessible, inclusive and user-centred design, ensuring WCAG compliance
- Oversee content quality, information architecture and technical performance
- Establish strong website governance, standards and content lifecycle processes
- Use data and research to measure impact and continuously improve the user experience
- Manage budgets and external suppliers to ensure value for money
- Collaborate closely with communications, IT, data and transformation teams
- Line manage and support website officers, helping them thrive and grow
Background Experience
- Has substantial experience managing large, complex website projects
- Is confident owning UX, content strategy, governance and functionality
- Has led strategic website development projects end-to-end
- Ideally has experience in the non-profit, government, education sectors or similar
- Understands accessibility standards and inclusive digital design
- Uses analytics, insight and user research to drive decision-making
- Can work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders
- Brings a calm, organised approach to managing risk, change and high-demand scenarios
Experience with Optimizely and a working knowledge of HTML are a bonus, but not essential.
