Solution Architect - Salesforce

The Opportunity

Valcon is looking for an experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to join a major client transformation within the Financial Services sector.

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of the Salesforce solution architecture, working closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, secure and pragmatic solutions.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring someone who can operate confidently with senior stakeholders while remaining close enough to the technology to guide engineering and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and define the end-to-end Salesforce solution architecture across the programme.

• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions.

• Design solutions across the wider Salesforce ecosystem, including integrations with enterprise and third-party platforms.

• Define architecture principles, patterns and technical standards.

• Work closely with engineering, product, business and delivery teams throughout the solution life cycle.

• Lead architectural decisions around integration, APIs, data, security and identity.

• Ensure solutions align with wider enterprise architecture and technology strategy.

• Identify architectural risks, dependencies and technical constraints.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to Salesforce developers and delivery teams.

• Engage with senior client stakeholders and clearly communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs.

• Support architecture governance, design reviews and technical assurance.

Experience Required

• Strong experience working as a Salesforce Solution Architect on complex enterprise programmes.

• Deep understanding of the Salesforce platform and architecture ecosystem.

• Experience designing Salesforce solutions that integrate with complex enterprise technology landscapes.

• Strong knowledge of APIs, integration patterns, data architecture, security and identity/access management.

• Experience working across cloud and enterprise architecture environments.

• Strong understanding of architectural principles including scalability, resilience, security and performance.

• Proven experience working directly with senior business and technology stakeholders.

• Ability to move between high-level solution design and detailed technical discussions with engineering teams.

• Experience delivering within complex transformation programmes.

Financial Services Experience

Previous experience within Financial Services is highly desirable, ideally within banking, insurance, wealth management or another regulated financial environment.

Experience of the following would be particularly valuable:

• Salesforce implementations within Financial Services.

• Complex Legacy and third-party system integrations.

• Customer and CRM transformation programmes.

• Working within regulated technology environments.

• Data security, privacy and regulatory considerations.

• Financial Services Cloud (FSC) experience.

The Profile

We're looking for someone who is more than a Salesforce technical specialist. You'll be comfortable taking ownership of the wider solution, understanding how Salesforce fits into the broader enterprise landscape and challenging decisions where necessary.

You'll be equally comfortable whiteboarding architecture with technical teams, engaging senior client stakeholders and driving architectural decisions through to delivery.
