Junior Operations Analyst
About the Role
We are partnering with a major global energy player specializing in flexibility services and demand-side response (DSR) within the UK and Ireland markets. They are looking for a sharp, data-driven Junior to Mid-Level Operations Analyst to support their growing portfolio.
In this role, you will sit at the intersection of market operations, data management, and grid flexibility ensuring that assets are successfully onboarded, market submissions are executed flawlessly, and settlements are managed with absolute precision.

Key Responsibilities
- Customer & Asset Onboarding: Guide new clients and their assets through the registration pipeline, handling industry portals and market entries (e.g., MPANs and metering data).
- Programme Enrolment: Manage the operational setup for flexibility and DSR programmes.
- Data Validation & Analysis: Audit, clean, and validate large datasets, ensuring absolute accuracy in asset performance and portfolio reporting.
- Market Submissions: Execute daily market operations, including price-quantity pairs and physical notifications.
- Settlement Support: Resolve discrepancies, manage billing data, and support financial settlements.
- Portfolio Optimization: Build reporting tools and dashboards to track portfolio performance and identify operational bottlenecks.
- Process Improvement: Streamline workflows and optimize internal data systems.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of commercial experience within the energy, utilities, settlements, metering, market operations, portfolio support, or trading operations sectors.
- Excel Expertise: Advanced Excel skills are essential. You must be fully fluent in XLOOKUP, PivotTables, data validation, and handling large datasets.
- Technical Bonus: Exposure to Power BI is strongly preferred; basic SQL or Python knowledge is a distinct advantage.
- Mindset: High attention to detail, a talent for hitting tight deadlines, and a genuine eagerness to learn the nuances of energy flexibility and grid balancing.
Package & Logistics
- Compensation: £42,000 – £46,000
- Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)
- Working Pattern: Hybrid working model based out of a London office.
