Project Manager (Energy Domain)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end implementation of business and technology initiatives within the Energy & Utilities sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering complex implementation programmes, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and ensuring successful deployment of energy solutions across business and IT functions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project delivery, implementation management, and energy industry processes such as retail energy, electricity, gas, smart metering, market-wide programmes, or energy trading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation projects from initiation through go-live and hypercare.
  • Develop project plans, governance, RAID logs, budgets, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Coordinate business, technical, vendor, and third-party teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage implementation activities including planning, configuration, testing, deployment, cutover, and transition to support.
  • Ensure project delivery within agreed scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across business, IT, operations, and external partners.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
  • Oversee SIT, UAT, dress rehearsals, cutover planning, and production deployments.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and provide regular executive reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements within the energy sector.
  • Support change management, business readiness, training, and adoption activities.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams, and Operations.

Experience

  • 8+ years of Project Management experience delivering enterprise technology implementations.
  • Strong experience within the Energy & Utilities industry.
  • Proven delivery of large-scale implementation or transformation programmes.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with project governance, financial management, RAID management, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of the implementation lifecycle including planning, testing, deployment, cutover, and hypercare.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and system integrators.
