Java Developer

Java Developer Hybrid (Belfast) | 6-Month Contract | Inside IR35

Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join their Belfast-based technology team on an initial 6-month contract (Inside IR35).

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-performance, data-driven applications within a fast-paced enterprise environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and optimising complex batch processing and integration systems using Java 17, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, and GridGain Database.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java 17 applications for enterprise data processing.
• Build and optimise batch processing solutions using Spring Batch.
• Design and implement integration flows with Spring Integration.
• Develop and tune SQL queries and stored procedures for relational databases.
• Work with GridGain Database to deliver distributed, high-performance data processing.
• Support data migration and workflow optimisation from MongoDB to GridGain.
• Automate deployment and operational tasks in Unix/Linux environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong proficiency in Java 17, including modern Java features and best practices.
• Proven experience with Spring Batch and Spring Integration.
• Solid understanding of Unix/Linux scripting and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with GridGain Distributed Cache/Database.
• Experience working with MongoDB and migrating data between platforms.
• Knowledge of data modeling, distributed systems, and database architecture.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Location: Belfast (Hybrid 23 days onsite per week)
