Overview:

We are working on behalf of a leading financial services client to recruit an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager for an initial 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled contractor to join a dynamic team and deliver key infrastructure initiatives that underpin mission-critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure-related projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT strategy.
  • Manage cross-functional teams including technical SMEs, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective project governance, budgeting, risk management, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, data centre migrations, hardware refreshes, and cloud enablement initiatives.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with senior stakeholders to provide updates, manage expectations, and address any issues or blockers.
  • Drive timely delivery in a complex, regulated financial services environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects within large, regulated financial services organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure domains including networks, servers, storage, and cloud (Azure/AWS).
  • Demonstrable experience working within structured governance frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI).
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting priorities.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with financial services regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, PRA).
  • Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure programmes.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, ITIL, Agile).

Additional Details:

  • Inside IR35 : This role is subject to IR35 regulations and will require engagement via an approved umbrella company.
  • Location : While based in Sheffield, some remote/hybrid working is available.
