Location: Birkenhead (Hybrid after initial onboarding)
Salary: Up to 40,000 (flexible depending on experience)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week - core hours 10:00am-4:00pm



About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our growing and collaborative team based in Birkenhead. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a wide range of industry-leading clients while developing your skills in automation and control systems.

You will be involved in PLC programming, system commissioning, and supporting automation projects across multiple industries including process and manufacturing. The role will involve occasional travel across the UK and Ireland.

Control Systems Engineers typically work on designing, programming, testing and commissioning automation systems while collaborating with engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions for industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain PLC programs using platforms such as Siemens or Rockwell

  • Support commissioning and testing of control systems on-site

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to deliver automation solutions

  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues

  • Contribute to project documentation and system improvements

  • Support engineering projects across different industries including process and manufacturing



Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in control systems or automation

  • Experience with PLC programming (Siemens or Rockwell preferred)

  • Exposure to onsite commissioning

  • Ability and willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland

  • Flexible to work across a variety of industries such as manufacturing or process

  • Background in maintenance engineering or panel building is advantageous

  • Driven, proactive, and keen to develop within a growing business

Location

The role is primarily based at our Birkenhead site.
