- £50-£60 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded firmware for advanced radar systems, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through to integration, verification and production.
- Develop firmware for FPGA-based and embedded processing platforms using C/C++ and Verilog, interfacing with high-speed digital electronics, sensors and communication protocols.
- Perform firmware integration, debugging and verification using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analysers, JTAG debuggers and protocol analysers, ensuring compliance with system and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, software and test engineers to investigate issues, perform root cause analysis and deliver robust firmware solutions for mission-critical defence applications.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience developing embedded firmware within the defence, aerospace or other safety-critical/high-reliability industries.
- Strong programming experience with Embedded C/C++ and experience developing FPGA firmware using VHDL or Verilog.
- Experience working with embedded microcontrollers, real-time operating systems (RTOS) and hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet and PCIe.
- Experience debugging embedded systems using laboratory test equipment, with strong technical documentation, configuration management and stakeholder communication skills.
