Job Title: WordPress / WooCommerce Developer
Location: Fully Remote (UK-based preferred)
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible working
Benefits: Standard pension contribution, 29 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), occasional on-call availability (ad hoc)
About the Role
We're looking for a seasoned WordPress / WooCommerce Developer to lead the ongoing development of a high-traffic e-commerce platform. This role will suit a technically strong developer with back-end expertise (full stack preferred), a passion for custom solutions, and proven leadership experience. You'll have a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to shape and grow your own development team within a fast-scaling business.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robust, scalable WordPress and WooCommerce functionality.
Customise platforms in a sustainable, future-proofed way tailored to specific business needs.
Build custom plugins and extend third-party plugins where required.
Lead complex API integrations - must demonstrate capability beyond plug-and-play solutions.
Lead your own development team and oversee ongoing performance and delivery.
Own the recruitment and onboarding process for growing the development function.
Essential Requirements
Strong experience in back-end WordPress / WooCommerce development (full stack preferred).
Deep understanding of custom development within WordPress and WooCommerce ecosystems.
Demonstrated experience building and customising plugins.
Solid hands-on experience with third-party API integrations - not just using but extending/custom-building integrations.
Proven leadership in managing and mentoring development teams.
Experience with technical recruitment and team scaling.
