Senior AVEVA Engineer
Location: Coventry or Warrington - Hybrid

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Lead AVEVA PI Engineer to take a leading role in the design and delivery of AVEVA PI solutions across a growing portfolio of projects.
The business has a significant pipeline of AVEVA-related work and is looking to strengthen its internal technical capability. This is an opportunity to become a key technical leader, combining hands-on engineering with project leadership, consultancy and commercial input.
You will lead AVEVA PI projects from initial concept and architecture through development, delivery and handover, while helping develop the wider team's technical capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of AVEVA PI projects
- Develop PI solutions from initial architecture and design through to implementation
- Provide technical leadership across multiple projects
- Produce system designs, specifications and technical project documentation
- Support tendering, proposals and consultancy activities
- Advise on AVEVA licensing and licence modelling, including AVEVA Flex
- Provide support around System Platform and OMI
- Work closely with customers to understand requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions
- Guide and mentor engineers, supporting technical training and development
- Help identify further opportunities within existing customer accounts
- Contribute to the development of the company's wider AVEVA capability
- Progress towards becoming a long-term Technical Authority within the business
About You
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on AVEVA PI expertise who is comfortable taking technical ownership of projects.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience with AVEVA PI / PI System
- Experience designing and developing PI solutions from scratch
- Strong understanding of PI architecture, development and system fundamentals
- Knowledge of AVEVA licensing and licence modelling
- Experience with AVEVA Flex
- Exposure to AVEVA System Platform and OMI
- Experience producing technical designs and project documentation
- Previous experience leading or taking technical ownership of engineering projects
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Commercial awareness, ideally with exposure to tenders and proposals
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to solve complex technical problems
- An interest in mentoring others and becoming a technical authority
Experience within water & wastewater, utilities, gas distribution, food & beverage or wider process industries would be advantageous.
Location & Working Pattern
The position can be based from either Coventry or Warrington, with hybrid working available.
You should be within reasonable travelling distance of one of the offices and comfortable spending approximately 2-3 days per week working collaboratively with the wider team.
The role is predominantly focused on engineering, design and project leadership, with limited site travel.
