About VantagePoint
VantagePoint is a global finance transformation and technology consultancy helping organisations modernise the finance function through process improvement, data and leading technology platforms.
Founded in London, we've grown rapidly from a team of five to over 100 professionals across EMEA, North America and APAC in seven years.
We partner with CFOs to deliver complex transformation programmes - implementing and optimising market-leading technologies to drive control, transparency and insight.
Our model combines deep finance expertise with strong technical delivery, enabling us to deliver practical outcomes and long-term client partnerships.
The opportunity
As an Engagement Manager at VantagePoint, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of finance transformation engagements, accountable for successful delivery, strong client relationships and commercial outcomes.
You'll oversee engagements end to end - including financials, resourcing, governance, risk and change - while acting as a trusted point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
Beyond delivery, you'll play an important role in customer success and growth, identifying opportunities within your accounts, supporting proposals and sales cycles, and helping develop long-term client relationships.
You'll also help strengthen how we deliver as we scale, embedding VantagePoint's governance framework and contributing to continuous improvement across the EMEA practice.
What you'll be doing
Delivery & engagement management
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of finance transformation projects across multiple technologies, providing strong project management oversight to both clients and delivery teams.
- Oversee all aspects of project governance, including financial management, stakeholder engagement, planning and scheduling, resource allocation, risk and issue management and change control.
- Establish and embed effective ways of working, ensuring alignment with VantagePoint's delivery model and governance framework.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure appropriate methodologies, tools and best practices are consistently applied, leveraging our project management systems.
- Drive project planning and resource coordination in partnership with the internal resourcing team, tracking progress against milestones and deliverables.
Client leadership & customer success
- Provide clear, structured and regular reporting to clients, covering project status, risks, issues and key decisions.
- Take ownership of challenging client situations, bringing together the right people to resolve issues quickly while maintaining strong relationships.
- Build trusted relationships with finance leaders and become a long-term partner throughout the client lifecycle.
- Act as the senior day-to-day client contact across assigned engagements, ensuring expectations, decisions and delivery priorities remain aligned.
Commercial growth
- Support RFP responses, proposals and sales cycles, bringing practical delivery insight into solution shaping.
- Identify and develop opportunities for additional projects and services within existing accounts.
- Build a strong understanding of client priorities and use this to support account planning and long-term growth.
Practice development & leadership
- Conduct regular team check-ins, providing coaching, mentoring and guidance to support the development of junior team members.
- Work with EMEA leadership to continually improve our delivery methodology, customer success approach and operational excellence.
- Act as a custodian of VantagePoint's quality standards and values, helping ensure every client engagement reflects the professionalism, consistency and high standards we expect across the business.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience delivering technical software implementations, ideally within a finance function.
- Proven project management experience within a technology environment, with a preference for EPM or CPM solutions (not mandatory).
- Confident using modern project management, collaboration and productivity tools, including Microsoft 365.
- Practical experience applying a structured implementation methodology, covering requirements gathering, design, build, testing and deployment.
- Curiosity and confidence in using AI and automation to improve project delivery, reporting and ways of working.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage clients directly and provide clear advice and constructive challenge.
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent engagements and priorities in a fast-paced, growing consultancy.
- An interest in working closely with the leadership team and taking ownership in driving new initiatives.
- A genuine enjoyment of building client relationships, growing accounts and working collaboratively across technology partners and internal teams.
