The opportunity

  • As Head of Delivery Excellence at VantagePoint, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of client projects across our transformation portfolio: spanning technical implementations and strategic advisory work. Reporting directly into the C-suite, you will directly lead a team of 3+ project management professionals. You will lead and scale the Delivery Excellence function, initially managing a core team of engagement managers with scope to grow the function over time.
  • A cornerstone of this role is the ownership and continuous evolution of our project governance framework. You will directly lead and develop our team of engagement managers, embedding best-practice governance standards, ensuring a market-leading client experience and driving continuous improvement across all engagements.
  • You will play a pivotal role in shaping our broader delivery model, overseeing strategic account health and identifying opportunities to deepen and grow existing client relationships. You will champion continuous improvement across the function: refining our delivery practices, raising quality standards and ensuring we remain at the forefront of how transformation programmes are delivered.
  • You will also represent the Delivery Excellence function at leadership level, contributing to internal initiatives, business planning and the ongoing evolution of your team across the consulting practice.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage, develop and support a team of project managers ensuring they have clear expectations, appropriate tooling and consistent guidance.
  • Ownership of a project governance framework, delivered in conjunction with our market-leading project management software, Rocketlane.
  • Support resourcing decisions and workforce planning in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Own delivery performance metrics including margin health, utilisation, forecast accuracy and delivery profitability.
  • Drive proactive intervention on at-risk engagements to protect client outcomes and commercial performance.
  • Maintain processes for monitoring progress, reporting status and managing escalations.
  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with clients to ensure alignment, transparency and issue resolution.
  • Support clients in managing change control, stakeholder communication and expectation setting.
  • Work with commercial teams to assess account health and identify additional opportunities within existing relationships.
  • Lead operational and delivery relationships with technology and implementation partners, ensuring alignment on methodology and delivery expectations.
  • Support pre-sales and contracting processes through delivery assurance input, scoping, estimation review and robust sales-to-delivery handoff.
  • Establish continuity as projects move from implementation into customer success and ongoing managed services support models.
  • Support joint planning, capacity discussions and coordination on shared engagements with partners.
  • Report to the C-suite on delivery performance, portfolio risks, team capability and improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to business planning, recruitment, methodology development and overall delivery strategy.
  • Own and evolve the VP delivery methodology, reusable accelerators, standards and implementation playbooks.

What we’re looking for

  • Ideally a background in EPM/ERP or Big 4 transformation projects (not mandatory).
  • Significant experience managing the delivery of technology or finance transformation projects, ideally including system implementation work.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop project delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, financials, planning, risk management and structured delivery methodologies.
  • Confident engaging with senior client stakeholders and addressing complex issues.
  • Experience managing vendor or technology partner relationships.
  • Able to work across multiple engagements in a fast-paced and growing organisation.
  • Comfortable contributing to delivery strategy and interacting regularly with senior leadership.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to develop and expand accounts.
