Deputy Group Manager – Order to Cash Operations
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Group Manager – Order to Cash (O2C) Operations to lead and oversee finance operations across the Order to Cash function.
The role will focus particularly on Credit Management and Cash Applications, ensuring high-quality service delivery, SLA adherence, financial accuracy, internal controls and continuous process improvement.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in O2C operations, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively across finance, operations and matrixed stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities Order to Cash Operations
- Manage end-to-end service delivery for O2C processes within scope.
- Oversee activities across Credit Management and Cash Applications.
- Manage invoice processing, vendor/customer master data activities, query resolution, indexing, invoice reconciliation and accounts reporting as applicable to the operation.
- Ensure transactions are processed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Monitor operational performance and ensure SLAs and quality targets are consistently achieved.
- Ensure appropriate financial treatment and accounting controls are maintained.
- Monitor operational risks and identify areas requiring corrective action.
Service Delivery & Performance Management
- Manage day-to-day O2C service delivery and operational performance.
- Monitor SLA, productivity, quality and accuracy metrics.
- Analyse performance trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide service delivery updates and operational reporting to stakeholders.
- Ensure issues are identified, investigated and resolved promptly.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to address escalations and operational challenges.
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Ensure finance transactions are processed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Support business control activities and compliance requirements.
- Handle confidential financial and business information appropriately.
- Identify control weaknesses and support remediation activities.
Continuous Improvement & Project Support
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue, reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
- Lead or support special projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Use data analysis to identify trends, issues and improvement opportunities.
- Provide recommendations based on operational and financial data.
- Support implementation of agreed process improvements.
- Ensure lessons learned and process feedback are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Work cross-functionally across Finance, Operations and matrixed teams.
- Manage customer and stakeholder expectations.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate operational issues, risks and recommendations clearly.
- Provide appropriate escalation and resolution support.
Required Experience
- 14+ years of Order to Cash (O2C) experience.
- Strong experience specifically across Credit Management and Cash Applications.
- Proven experience in finance operations/service delivery.
- Strong understanding of O2C processes and controls.
- Experience managing service delivery against SLAs and operational KPIs.
- Experience working across Finance, Operations and matrixed organisations.
- Experience identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Ability to draw conclusions and recommendations from data trends.
- Experience supporting or leading finance transformation or improvement initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution capabilities.
